Grapefruit Sherbet: mix it, crush it, CRUSH IT!
I was murdered again and again these past few weeks with school work, exams and projects and more miscellaneous school work! And now that I have a few hours to lay back, I’m posting something that was due last week. Finally!
These fruits were just sitting in the corner no one was paying attention to. I think it’s because of the fear of taking a bite and the bitter taste that could last in your mouth the whole day. I’m talking about Grapefruits, of course!

Slice the top off. Not in half, but the top part only (you’ll see why.. read on). Use a teaspoon, scrape the insides and let it all drip on a large bowl. Caution: eye-burning grapefruit juice squirt.

Slightly strain the juice by taking out all the white peels and big seeds. I like mine very pulpy and left the small seeds, it doesn’t matter. No one’s gonna choke ;P

Heat up a medium size pan and melt sugar in water until dissolved. Swirl the pan, do NOT stir it or else the sugar will crystalize and we don’t want that.
Let it cool down for 30 minutes then mix it with the grapefruit juice.

Place all the liquid on a tupperware or container or something. Let it freeze.
When frozen, chop it off to cubes. Using a food processor, pulse it until it becomes creamy and smooth.
Scoop it out and serve using the peel as a bowl. Really cute, right?! :)

Modified grapefruits, if you don’t like the bitter taste! :)

FRESH BANANA ICE CREAM to beat this very very intensely hot day!
Also, for the health conscious! You can now eat ice cream, attention! YOU CAN NOW EAT ICE CREAM without being guilty afterwards!
Don’t you just hate it when you eat banana ice cream or banana shakes, they always leave this chunk of banana flavoring powder? Ew! That ruins the yummy ice cream moment… All the time!
So here’s an easy fix for that major dilemma! Make-your-own ice cream!
1) Freeze at least 3 large bananas. Preferably overnight.
2) Grab that dusty food processor that you have never used. Now is the time! Quickly peel the bananas using a table knife then slice them: it’s easier this way so you won’t have to deal with banana mush all over your hands.
3) Pop them in the food processor all at once. Pulse one second by one second to make sure the bananas are all well-blended. Scrape sides if needed.
4) Pour to serving cups. Put back to freezer for 20 minutes.
5) Serve!
This is the simplest version of a gelato-like dessert, but without cream or any form of dairy. Only one ingredient is needed. I’m not sure if you can get the same result from different fruits because bananas produce natural creamy mushy texture, kinda like ice cream.
So you guys should give this a try! :D
Tip: Anything topped with ice cream is always the bomb!
